Taught by the Holy Spirit

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His goodness, faithfulness, lovingkindness and tendermercies.

“And we are setting these truths forth in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the [Holy] Spirit, ...” 1 Corinthians 2v13 (AMP)

“Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth, …” 1 Corinthians 2v13 (KJV)

“This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, …” 1 Corinthians 2v13 (NIV)

Paul here is saying that when they spoke, and shared, they weren’t using words that were taught them by human wisdom, but that were taught them by the Spirit of God. As we see in 1 Corinthians 2v1 (NIV) “And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.” Beloved, so it is with us, when we share about our faith, we need to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit, and not human wisdom. Jesus told His disciples at some point that “But when you are arrested and stand trial, don’t worry in advance about what to say. Just say what God tells you at that time, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit.” Mark 13v10 (NLT). Children of God, let us learn to rely on the help of the Holy Spirit in our walk with the Lord, remembering the Word of the Lord in Zechariah 4v6 (KJV) “Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”

“My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.” 1 Corinthians 2v4-5 (AMP)

Prayer

Our heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Word and for Your Spirit. We ask Father for more of Your Spirit, to help us, lead us, guide us, comfort us, counsel us, fill us, speak to us, inspire us, teach us and be all that He is to be to us in Jesus name we pray, amen.
