Jesus Christ – our foundation!
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. The Bible
says:
“Because
of God’s grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now
others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be
very careful. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already
have – Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 3v10-11 (NLT)
“According
to the grace (the special endowment for my task) of God bestowed on me, like a
skillful architect and master builder I laid [the] foundation, and now another
[man] is building upon it. But let each [man] be careful how he builds upon it,
For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is [already] laid, which
is Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).” 1 Corinthians 3v10-11 (AMP)
We
are God’s building. For our faith and Christian walk, there is a foundation
that is already laid, that foundation is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ who is the
same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13v8). Ephesians 2v19-21 (NIV) says
“Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens
with God’s people and also members of His household, built on the foundation of
the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone.
In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple
in the Lord. And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling
in which God lives by His Spirit.” Amen. Hallelujah. In Christ, the church is
being built and comes together to become a holy temple for the Lord, a place
where God dwells by His Spirit. 1 Corinthians 3v16 (AMP) tells us “Do you not
discern and understand that you [the whole church at Corinth] are God’s temple
(His sanctuary), and that God’s Spirit has His permanent dwelling in you [to be
at home in you, collectively as a church and also individually]?”
Supplementary Text
“And
you are living stones that God is building into His spiritual temple. What’s
more, you are His holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you
offer spiritual sacrifices that please God.” 1 Peter 2v5 (NLT)
Prayer
Our
heavenly Father, we thank You so much for Your Word. We thank You for Jesus
Christ being the chief corner stone, and the foundation of the church. We thank
You for we are the temple of the Holy Spirit and that You live in us by Your
Spirit. Thank You that we can offer spiritual sacrifices to You through the
mediation of Jesus Christ. Blessed be Your holy name Father, Son and Holy
Spirit for evermore. We pray for unity in the body of Christ in Jesus name,
amen.
