Assurance of Victory (Moses, 8)

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for another week, and for His strength. We thank Him for His compassions that never fail, and for all His benefits. One thing God greatly cherishes is obedience. We see in the life of Moses, that although he gave excuses earlier as to why God should not use him, yet, after he had decided to go, he was obedient to what God said.

Primary Text: Exodus 4v19&20
“And the LORD said unto Moses in Midian, Go, return into Egypt: for all men are dead which sought thy life.
And Moses took his wife and his sons and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.” Exodus 4v19&20

Obedience. Obedience would determine whether you will achieve God’s all for you or not. It will determine if you will continue to walk in His grace or not. We saw that Saul, through disobedience, began his descent into losing the kingship that God had called him too, while David on the other hand was called someone who would fulfill God’s will. To God, rebellion is like the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness like iniquity and idolatry (see 1 Samuel 15). Obedience is one of the stepping stones to achieving our purpose in life. Even Jesus was obedient unto death.

Subsidiary Texts:
“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:” Isaiah 1v19

“And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” Philippians 2v8

“For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” Romans 5v19

“And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, He hath also rejected thee from being king.” 1 Samuel 15v22-23

“And when He had removed him, He raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also He gave their testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all My will.” Acts 13v22

Have a blessed day.
