Overcoming Tactics (3)
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. I don’t know how many of you have watched this movie whereby the phrase “this means war” was used (or I think it was used in a movie). But what can you do again to guarantee success in a war you embark on. Or perhaps a challenge, a situation, a confrontation, an opposition perhaps at work, at school, it could be a project, a relationship, family situations,… either you have to be on the defensive, or you want to be offensive about it so that things do not go wrong. One major weapon for the believer is to learn to inquire of the Lord. To ask the Lord. For example, we see in the life of Daniel, when they king had issued a decree for the wise men to be killed because no one could tell him his dream and interprete it. Daniel asked for time.
Primary Text: Daniel 2v16-19, Jeremiah 33v3
“Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would show the king the interpretation. Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions: That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret: that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.” Daniel 2v17-19
“Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jeremiah 33v3
Sometimes, all we need to do is to ask for a little time, or take time out to inquire of God. Lord, what is the next step? Should I confront, should I retreat, should I embark? What are You saying concerning this issue? What is the best way to move forward? Am I looking at this situation all wrong? Lord, people are saying this, what do You say? And the amazing thing is that our God, who is so great in counsel (Jer 32:19), will answer us, when we ask of Him.
Subsidiary Texts: 1 Samuel 23v1-5
“THEN THEY told David, saying, Behold, the Philistines fight against Keliah, and they rob the threshingfloors. Therefore David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And the LORD said unto David, Go, and smite the Philistines, and save Keliah. And David’s men said unto him, Behold, we be afraid here in Judah: how much more then if we come to Keliah against the armies of the Philistines? Then David inquired of the LORD yet again. And the LORD answered him and said, Arise, go down to Keliah; for I will deliver the Philistines into thine hand. So David and his men went to Keliah, and fought with the Philistines, and brought away their cattle, and smote them with a great slaughter. So David saved the inhabitants of Keliah.” 1 Samuel 23v1-5
Have a very blessed day.
Prayer
Why don’t you go ahead and inquire of the Lord, even concerning those situations. Remember that the prayer of the upright is His delight.
