An Unwavering Testimony
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His greatness, His kindness, His goodness, His faithfulness. He is Good ☺ The Word of the Lord tells us that:
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light;” 1 Peter 2v9 (KJV)
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2v9 (Amplified Bible)
“But you are a chosen people, royal priests, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession. You were chosen to tell about the wonderful acts of God, who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2v9 (New Century Version)
I have heard it say that why are you trying to fit in, when you have been born to stand out? We are a chosen people unto God, a royal priesthood, a peculiar/special people to Him. Now, we see in this verse that one reason why God has chosen us and set us apart, is to show forth His praise, display His virtue, His character, His nature, His wonderful acts, His goodness…
Today’s encouragement is to say that regardless of what you are going through, never let it change your testimony of God. Meaning – God does not change, and who He was yesterday, is who He is today, and who He will be forevermore (Hebrews 13v8). He is good, kind, compassionate, yes He chastises those He loves, but He does so as a father who loves His child (Hebrews 12v5-11). We shew forth God’s praises through our character (the way we act), through the words that we speak, by fulfilling His purposes for our lives. The devil might try to put you in a situation where cares, troubles, and afflictions seem so overwhelming that you forget your unique calling. Never let this happen. Let it be that regardless of what you are experiencing, your testimony of the Lord remains firm. Let’s not be ignorant of the devices of the devil (see 2 Corinthians 2v11). When you are feeling down and discouraged – shew forth His praises. When you face a challenge – shew forth His praises. Finally, “As newborn babies, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” 1 Peter 2v2 (KJV), and may you be blessed as you do so in Jesus name, amen.
Prayer point: Father, please let me increase in the knowledge of God. Create in me a deep desire for Your Word. I pray this in Jesus name, amen.
