Overcoming Tactics (7)

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His faithfulness, His lovingkindness, His grace over our lives. In addition to us overcoming because of our knowledge of God, it is important to recognize that God, and God alone is our source. It is important that we always remember that He is our glory, and that if we must continue to overcome, we must remain connected to Him. Pride must NEVER get in the way to make us think for one minute that we can achieve anything outside of Him.

Primary Text: 2 Samuel 5v10
“And David went on, and grew great, and the LORD God of hosts was with him.” 2 Samuel 5v10

The secret to David’s success, was God being with Him. Without God, David would not have amounted to much. Afterall, it is God who girded him with strength unto the battle, and subdued under him those who rose up against him (Psalm 18v39); who was his rock, his fortress, his deliverer, his high tower (Psalm 18v1); and his Shepherd (Psalm 23v1). The reason for the success of every great person we see in the Bible e.g. Joseph, Daniel, Abraham, Isaac was God. The reason for your present success, is God with you. Without God, we are nothing!

Subsidiary Texts: John 15v4-7, Romans 8v31, Jeremiah 17v5-8
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in Me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing. If a man abideth not in Me, He is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” John 15v4-7

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8v31

“Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departed from the LORD. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.” Jeremiah 17v5-8

Have a very blessed day.

Prayer
Father, let Your presence never depart from me. Grant me the grace to abide in You forevermore in Jesus name, amen.
