Help is here!

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord ☺ We thank God for His great love for us. He is indeed faithful and true. And He is our help in times of trouble. You know how sometimes people will tell you that unless you have been there, you cannot know how it feels. For instance unless you have lost a loved one, you might not know how someone who has lost a loved one feels. Unless you have worked in a tense environment, you might not be able to encourage someone who is working in such an intense environment. The Bible tells us that it was essential therefore for Jesus to become like us, so that He can be a merciful and faithful high priest for us, in things pertaining to God. So, Jesus coming as a man, and suffering being tempted as a man, translates into Him being in a good position to help us when we are going through the same. We see this in Hebrews 2v16-18:

“We all know He did not come as an angel but as a human being – yes, a Jew.
And it was necessary for Jesus to be like us, His brothers, so that He could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God, a Priest who would be merciful to us and faithful to God in dealing with the sins of the people.
For since He Himself has now been through suffering and temptation, He knows what it is like when we suffer and are tempted, and He is wonderfully able to help us.” Hebrews 2v16-18 (New Living Translation)

“For verily He took not on Him the nature of angels; but He took on Him the seed of Abraham.
Wherefore in all things it behooved Him to be made like unto His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
For in that He Himself hath suffered being tempted, He is able to succour them that are tempted.” Hebrews 2v16-18 (King James Version)

“For, as we all know, He [Christ] did not take hold of angels [the fallen angels, to give them a helping hand and delivering hand], but He did take hold of [the fallen] descendants of Abraham [to reach out to them a helping and delivering hand]. [Isa. 41:8,9]
So it is evident that it was essential that He be made like His brethren in every respect, in order that He might become a merciful (sympathetic) and faithful High Priest in the things related to God, to make atonement and propitiation for the people’s sins.
For because He Himself [in His humanity] has suffered in being tempted (tested and tried), He is able [immediately] to run to the cry of (assist, relieve) those who are being tempted and tested and tried [and who therefore are being exposed to suffering].” Hebrews 2v16-18 (Amplified Bible)

Hallelujah. Are you in need of help? Are you presently being exposed to suffering? Don’t be scared, ask the Lord to help you. He’s been there, and He is able immediately to run to the cry of those who are being tempted and tried and tested. Isn’t it wonderful to know that God does not leave us to go through the temptations on our own. He went through the same sufferings as well, so He can help us when we ourselves are going through them. So, ask Him, saying Lord, I am going through this rough temptation right now. I know You know how it feels to go through it, and You were without sin in going through it, please help me now, in Jesus name, amen.

Have a very blessed day.
