Assurance of Victory

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Our God is a great and mighty God. He is the best ally anyone could ever hope for. When He is on your side, you can be rest assured that you will be just fine, regardless of how small we think we are. One image I still like, is that of Lucy in the movie - Prince Caspian, who had been sent to look for help. Initially, when she returned, and it seemed like she was on her own, the enemy snarled at her. Then Aslan, the Lion appeared beside her and they were frightened. With the Great I am on your side, you can be assured of victory.

Primary Text: Judges 6v11-16
“And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites. And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour. And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all His miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house. And the LORD said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.” Judges 6v11-16

When the LORD is with you, and He has sent you on a mission – the resources you have or don’t have are inconsequential. Your family/background is inconsequential. Your status in your father’s house, perhaps it is the least, is inconsequential. Your finances are inconsequential… when the LORD is with you. When the LORD is sending you to do the seemingly impossible, it does not matter how impossible the situation around you seems, as long as God is with you, victory is assured.

Subsidiary Text: 1 Corinthians 15v57
“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15v57

Prayer
Father, we thank You for the victory You give us through our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You so very much because we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us, in Jesus name, amen.
