The True Circumcision

Hello everybody,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for this wonderful day that He has made, that we can rejoice and do rejoice and be glad in it. As a Christian, what do you pride yourself in? Cars, money, job, education, prayer that would cause the heavens to open, a calling, a name, a status, being able to follow a series of rules and regulations? Some prided themselves on being (physically) circumcised. But do you know that a Christian is called circumcision even as we see in Philippians 3v2.

Primary Text: Philippians 3v1
“Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.
For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.” Philippians 3v2-3 (KJV)

“Look out for those dogs [Judaizers, legalists], look out for those mischiefmakers, look out for those who mutilate the flesh. For we [Christians] are the true circumcision, who worship God in spirit and by the Spirit of God and exult and glory and pride ourselves in Jesus Christ, and put no confidence or dependence [on what we are] in the flesh and on outward privileges and physical advantages and external appearances - ” Philippians 3v2-3 (Amplified Bible)

“Watch our for those dogs, those people who do evil, those mutilators who say you must be circumcised to be saved. For we who worship by the Spirit of God are the ones who are truly circumcised. We rely on what Christ Jesus has done for us. We put no confidence in human effort,” Philippians 3v2-3 (New Living Translation).

Hallelujah. Paul here is saying, beware of certain people. Beware in the dictionary means to be wary, cautious, or careful, to be on guard against (www.dictionary.com). Be careful, remembering that if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His (Romans 8v9). Do you have the Spirit of Christ in you? Are you truly born again, or are you priding yourself in appearance and good things?

Subsidiary Texts: Philippians 3v9, John 4v23-24
“and become one with Him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with Himself depends on faith.” Philippians 3v9 (NLT)

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” John 4v23-24

Let us meditate on these things. Have a very blessed day.

Prayer
And perhaps you do not even know Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour, do not have His Spirit in you and you want to have a relationship with Him. The Bible says:

“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Romans 10v9-10

You can say this prayer: Heavenly Father, I come to You today, confessing that I am a sinner. I am sorry for all that I have done and ask that You forgive me for all of my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Lord Jesus, I ask that You be Lord and Saviour over my life. I believe that You came to die for my sins, and that God raised You from the dead. Thank You Father for translating me out of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Your dear Son. Thank You for sealing me with Your Holy Spirit of promise. Please keep me till the end in You, and may Your Name alone be glorified in my life, in Jesus name I pray, amen.

If you said this prayer today, know that you are now a child of God and that there is much jubilation in heaven because of you. Begin to attend a Bible-believing church, and keep the faith! Welcome into God’s family.
