Being Perfect...
Hello everybody,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His amazing grace for us. He is the One who performeth all things for us (Psalm 57v2). May the good Lord perfect all that concerns you on every level of your life, in Jesus name, amen (Psalm 138v8).
Primary Text: Philippians 3v15
“Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.” Philippians 3v15 (KJV)
“Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you.” Philippians 3v15 (NLT)
“So let those [of us] who are spiritually mature and full-grown have this mind and hold these convictions; and if in any respect you have a different attitude of mind, God will make that clear to you also.” Philippians 3v15 (AMP)
The Life Application Study Bible, has this commentary on Philippians 3v15&16: “Sometimes trying to live a perfect Christian life can be so difficult that it leaves us drained and discouraged. We may feel so far from perfect that we think we can never please God with our life. Paul used perfection (3:12) to mean mature or complete, not flawless in every detail. Those who are mature should press on in the Holy Spirit’s power, knowing that Christ will reveal and fill in any discrepancy between what we are and what we should be. Christ’s provision is no excuse for lagging devotion, but it provides relief and assurance for those who feel driven.”
For those who are spiritually mature and full grown in the Lord, we are therefore encouraged to have this mindset, one which is looking forward to what lies ahead, one which forgets that which is past, one which is reaching for the mark of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Again, we see Paul mentioning the fact that if in any thing there is a disagreement, God will make it clear unto us. That is such wonderful news, that God will let us know when we are having a different mind to what should be. Hallelujah.
Have a very blessed day.
Supplementary Verses
“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him. But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” 1 Corinthians 1v9-10
Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray that in my life, wherever I am falling short of Your divine nature, and what You want me to be, please reveal this to me in Jesus name, amen. I yield myself to Your hands as the Potter of my life, and ask You to mold me as seems good to You in Jesus name, amen.
