His Favour
Hello everybody,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His amazing favour and love for us. The favour of the Lord is something that is so wonderful and should be sought for.
Primary Text – Psalm 44v1-3
“WE have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work Thou didst in their days, in the times of old. How thou didst drive out the heathen with Thy hand, and plantedst them; how Thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out. For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but Thy right hand, and Thine arm, and the light of Thy countenance, because Thou hast a favour unto them.” Psalm 44v1-3
Some of the definitions of favour include – something done or granted out of goodwill, rather than from justice or for remuneration; friendly or well-disposed regard; goodwill; the state of being approved or held in regard; excessive kindness or unfair partiality; preferential treatment; a gift bestowed as a token of goodwill, kind regard, love etc. (www.dictionary.com). The favor of the LORD enables someone to possess their possessions (Psalm 44v1-3). God’s kindness and goodwill towards someone can enable them to succeed and do exceedingly well. In fact, in order to do exceedingly well, it is necessary to have the favour of the Lord. If not, everything that one does, will be in vain (Psalm 127v1). God is also able to give you favour with men; even people like our bosses or those who have some sort of authority, making things easier for us. Is there something you are looking up to God for, why don’t you ask Him for His favour in order that you might possess that thing?
Supplementary Texts

“But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.” Genesis 39v21
“Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.” Daniel 1v8
