Give Thanks ☺

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text – 1 Thessalonians 5v18
“In every thing give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5v18

In every thing, give thanks…. Not just in some things, or select things, or when we feel like things, but in every thing, we are asked to give thanks. Why? This is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning us. Hallelujah. The Lord Jesus while on earth gave thanks. When He was praying for food to be multiplied, when He was acknowledging that God always heard Him, before He healed Lazarus… Thanksgiving is also a way of giving glory to God for what was done, as we see in the story of the 10 lepers whom Jesus healed and only one came back to give thanks (Luke 17v12-19). In some of these situations, giving thanks may not have seemed to be the easiest thing to do. For instance, in the case of Lazarus, there were some people who said “… Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have causes that even this man should not have died?” (John 11v37). Even Mary, the sister of Jesus had mentioned similarly aforehand that “… Lord, if Thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.” (John 11v32). And yet, when He prayed, He still gave thanks. Even Daniel gave thanks to God at a time when he had cause to be concerned (Daniel 6v6-9).

“Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before His God, as he did aforetime.” Daniel 6v10
