Again and Again

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. God is the strength of our lives and our portion forever. The Bible says:

Primary Text:
“One day Jesus told His disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.” Luke 18v1 (NLT)

Sometimes you may get to the point where you think, I have prayed about this issue before, I am tired of praying about it. Or, I have been kind before, been generous before, served God before, praised before, forgiven before, trusted before, applied before e.t.c… and I don’t want to do it again. However, we need to keep praying, following instructions, and good and wise counsel, again and again. Don’t be offended at the Lord. Naaman was a general, a mighty general, but he was a leper. Elisha the prophet, sent a messenger to him that he should go and dip in the river Jordan seven times. Initially, he was angry about this (see text below), and if he hadn’t followed the counsel of his servants, he may never have gone to dip in river Jordan. Again, he could have stopped dipping on the 3rd or 4th time, but he didn’t. At the end of the day, his miracle came through. This story of Naaman (some of which is below) is applicable to different situations. There are things we have been instructed to do, but it doesn’t seem cool enough or the way we had expected it to be. Or, we have tried something already e.g. prayer, but it doesn’t seem to be working. God’s Word works. He will never fail you. Try again, and again, and again...

Supplementary Text
“So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha. And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean. But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper. Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage, And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean? Then went he down; and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.” 2 Kings 5v9-14 (KJV)

Prayer
Father, we thank You so much for Your Word this day. We pray for the grace to be obedient and perseverant in Jesus name, amen.
