Withhold Not Your Hand

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His faithfulness, His grace, His lovingkindness and His tendermercies. He is indeed faithful. The Bible says:

Primary Text:
“In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.” Ecclesiastes 11v6 (KJV)

One thing that the Bible encourages is persistence, and perseverance. For instance, we are told not to be weary in well doing, for in due season, we shall reap if we faint not (Galatians 6v9). It also encourages us not to give up on trying. You have tried your hand at something before, but it didn’t work out well, do it again. Maybe this time, it will work out just fine. Is there an opportunity out there, seize it? David was asking about what will be given to the man who killed Goliath, his brother spoke to him in a way that could discourage anyone. But he said –“ is there not a cause”, basically, I am only asking a question, and moved on to ask someone else. Beloved, is there not a cause for what you are doing – either in ministry, in your place of work, in your family, for your friends. Is there not a cause that you preach the gospel, give to the poor, look for a great job, bring comfort to your family… There is a cause. You don’t know how God is working. Don’t withhold your hand.

Supplementary Text:
“David asked the soldiers standing nearby, “What will a man get for killing this Philistine and ending his defiance of Israel? Who is this pagan Philistine anyway, that he is allowed to defy the armies of the living God?” And these men gave David the same reply. They said, “Yes, that is the reward for killing him.” But when David’s oldest brother, Eliab, heard David talking to the men, he was angry. “What are you doing around here anyway?” he demanded. “What about those few sheep you’re supposed to be taking care of? I know about your pride and deceit. You just want to see the battle!” “What have I done now?” David replied. “I was only asking a question!” He walked over to some others and asked them the same thing and received the same answer.” 1 Samuel 17v26-30

Prayer
Father, I thank You so much for Your Word today. Father, the grace to be tenacious, and not to give up, in any area of my life, to work in Your purpose for my life, please grant unto me in Jesus name, amen.
