Watch that Thought

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. What are you thinking about? Paul writing in Philippians 4v13 spoke of certain things we should think about:

Primary Text
“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, ...” Philippians 4v8 (NLT)

One of the things we are told to fix our thoughts on are things that are “true.” Jesus said, “Make them holy by Your truth; teach them Your word, which is truth.” (John 17v17, NLT). Jesus is the Word of God (John 10v10). There are many false thoughts that the evil one will try to bring our way, but we need to combat it with the truth. For instance, a thought may come that tomorrow is going to be an awful day, but God has said – Say ye to the righteous, it shall be well with him, for he shall eat of the fruit of his doings (Isaiah 3v10). Or another may say, you are a failure, but you need to sanctify your thought with the Word which says – “Thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ Jesus, and maketh manifest the savour of His knowledge by us in every place.” (2 Corinthians 2v14, KJV) Or, there will be no food for you and your family to eat tomorrow, but the Word says “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6v33). Jesus gives the perfect example of how we can deal with thoughts, and suggestions of the evil one – by the Word of God. When the devil came tempting Him, Jesus said – It is written…. For you to think true thoughts, you have to take as a given that God’s Word is True, fix your thoughts on it, fix your thoughts on Jesus ☺

Supplementary Text
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” Hebrews 12v1-3 (NIV)

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank You so much for Your Word. Father I pray for a deep revelation of Your Word, that I may always have Truth firmly implanted in my heart in Jesus name, amen.
