Truth

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text:
“Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist,…” Ephesians 6v14 (NIV).
The belt (or girdle) of the armor, are “for the loins to brace the armour tight against the body, and support daggers, swords, and other weapons” (Dakes concordance). We are to stand firm, with the belt of truth buckled around our waist. The Word of God is truth. Jesus is truth. Jesus said “Sanctify them through Thy truth: Thy Word is truth.” (John 17v17), and we know that “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” (John 14v6). Jesus, who is also the Word of God, is the anchor upon which everything we believe stands on. By the Word of God, and obedience and submitting to it, we are able to stand. Even Jesus, when tempted by the devil, responded with “It is written…” “It is said…” Well, the Bible tells us that: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8v32), Through the truth, by the Word of truth, we are able to stand. We need to become acquainted with the Word, to know what God says, and to obey what He says.

“Whoseoever cometh to Me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which build an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.” Luke 6v47-49 (KJV).

Father, I thank You so much for Your Word this day. Today, I pray for the grace to obey Your Word completely and totally in Jesus name, amen.
