Righteousness (2)!

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. One of the armor that we have as believers, is the breastplate of righteousness.

Primary Text:
“Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place.” Ephesians 6v14 (NIV).

Now, even though we have been made the righteousness of God in Christ, as children of God (2 Corinthians 5v21), we have to continue in the paths of righteousness. The Bible tells us that “As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death” (Proverbs 11v19); and “Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14v34). When you follow after righteousness, you are able to stand. You have that standing with God, and He backs you up. When you follow after sin, you give the devil a foothold. We see an example of this when Israel, who had been able to defeat Jericho, could not stand against Ai! (Joshua 7). Remain in right standing with God at all times. That is a part of your armor beloved.

Supplementary Text:
“Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.” Romans 6v13-18 (KJV)

Prayer
Father, I thank You so much for Your Word this day. I pray that our love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment, that we may approve things that are excellent, that we may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ. Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God in Jesus name, amen.
